Tim did not come to the stage from the sidelines. Before becoming a full-time speaker and trainer, he built and led multiple businesses across a wide range of industries, including building and remodeling, real estate investment, manufacturing, computer consulting, telecommunications, restaurants and nightlife, food distribution, wholesale paper and retail packaging, and business consulting.
That experience shaped the way he sees leadership: not as theory, but as something tested in real decisions, real pressure, real teams, and real consequences.
Over the years, those experiences taught him what many leaders learn the hard way. Accountability breaks down when expectations are unclear. Teams struggle when leaders hesitate. Standards slip when no one owns the outcome. And performance rises when leaders communicate clearly, make tough calls, and follow through consistently.
Tim’s path into speaking and leadership development started behind a microphone. As host of two Dallas-area real estate radio shows, he built an audience through candor, humor, and practical insight.
That experience sharpened his communication skills, but it also revealed something bigger: while he could build businesses, he was most energized by building people. Teaching, speaking, encouraging, and challenging others to grow became the work that matched him best.
A major turning point came during the season when Tim welcomed his twins—a chapter of life that forced him to slow down, reflect, and gain greater clarity about his purpose and direction. As priorities at home shifted, he began to see his work more clearly. Speaking and leadership development were not simply interests on the side; they were central to the work he was built to do. That realization changed the trajectory of his career and continues to shape the direction of his work today.
Today, Tim brings together business experience, construction and real estate credibility, and a practical leadership philosophy that resonates with executives, managers, supervisors, entrepreneurs, and association audiences.
He is the creator of Hard Hat Leadership™, a leadership framework grounded in a simple belief: strong leadership should be built with the same intentionality, discipline, and structure required to build something that lasts.
